St. Andrew’s PTA committee says that it heard nothing from Deputy Sillars or Mr Mulkerrin on today’s phone in that convinces it that Education has real strength to its arguments.
The general feeling on Facebook and Twitter during and after today’s debate was that the questions raised were not adequately answered to allay parents’ fears.
Many callers relayed their satisfaction with St. Andrew’s primary and disputed the accuracy and relevance of the assertions in Education’s proposals. Nobody chatting online at the time was satisfied that Deputy Sillars or Mr Mulkerrin successfully dismissed or challenged their damning statements and questions.
Despite repeated calls from the BBC inviting supporters of the proposals to phone in there was only one email read out from someone specifically supporting the closure of St. Sampson’s.
